Supported Independent Living

Need more than just a place to stay? We would love to create a home for you, house you until your own housing plans are brought to life or support you to live in your own home with SIL like support.

Currently we provide housing for NDIS participants with experience of an Intellectual Disability and/or Mental Illness. If you have any other disability, we would be happy to refer you to some great providers.

We set the intention to provide good quality SIL housing, with a focus on two key areas;

  • Sleep hygiene

  • Quality Nutrition

We’ve looked into the science and value that both sleep and nutrition provide and believe they are areas worth focussing on in order to get the best out of yourself and any treatment plans your medical team have established for you.

Ways in which we achieve these goals which you may or may not notice;

  • provide you with good quality food, ensuring balanced meals are available to you. You won’t struggle for food or be limited in your food choices; all food is fresh and of good quality and variety

  • provide you with a good quality mattress, pillows and clean linen

  • guide you toward getting enough sleep so you can function at your best, we may prompt you after a rough night to rest or alter your weeks engagements to support you to have enough sleep and recovery.

  • encourage you toward activities that support your ability to sleep well (sunlight exposure etc)

  • talk to you about setting a quality sleep environment and how to achieve that within your unique needs (maybe you need noise and light to get to sleep, maybe you need darkness)

You will come with your own goals and habits for living in Supported Accommodation, part of our goal is to help you on your path to achieving a home you can live a life from.

We hope that living with us and working with your SIL Mentor (Support Worker) is more like a family home experience than a work relationship. You will be given the space to create a home environment for yourself (and potentially housemates), that is safe for all, comfortable, and supports you to lead a life of wellbeing in all areas.

We encourage informal supports to connect with you in and out of the home and will work with you to arrange this so it is positive for yourself, friends and family and considerate of your housemates and staff.

If you are considering any type of short to long term NDIS funded accommodation, please get in touch so we can discuss your options including trial stays and visits.
